METATARSALGIA

ABOUT METATARSALGIA

Metatarsalgia is a condition that causes pain on the bottom of the foot, usually under the first or second toe pad. Symptoms include pain and stiffness, especially during walking or weight-bearing activity. Causes of metatarsalgia include high impact activities such as running on hard surfaces or jumping with hard landings. As the padding on the bottom of your foot thins out with age, this condition may be more common as we get older. Your therapist will assess your condition and create a treatment plan to alleviate your pain and get you back to your activities.
