    Melissa Padilla graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree with distinction (2002) and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree (2007). Her clinical approach primarily includes education and therapeutic exercise to actively engage her patients in their recovery. She has extensive training in mechanical assessment and treatment of the spine, and has completed the McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy courses (Parts A, B, and C). She has also taken extra training in Vestibular Rehabilitation and is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling. She enjoys working in a team setting to optimize a patient’s health and wellness.

    Jessica Mahé (formerly: Jessica Sobiewski) graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2013. Prior to that, she also received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Alberta. Jessica is certified in medical Acupuncture and Dry Needling. Jessica’s treatment approach includes a lot of manual therapy (“hands on treatment”) combined with exercise, needling, and educating you about your injury using pictures and videos. Learning new techniques and taking courses every year is important to Jessica. She has finished additional courses in K-taping, needling, exercise therapy, soft tissue mobilization, manual therapy, and sport injuries. She is currently working on her CMPT certification (Certified Manual Physical Therapist).

    Creating a rehabilitation plan that is tuned in to your lifestyle and your goals is her priority. She sees a variety of patients including sport injuries, post-surgical injuries, WCB, and motor vehicle accidents. She loves the variety of her job and treating all conditions. During her spare time Jessica enjoys staying active and getting outdoors with activities such as snowshoeing, hiking, squash, yoga, snowboarding, and attending fitness classes. You can often catch her at the dog park with her husband, daughter, and two dogs Bella (black lab) and Stevie (poodle). She also enjoys travelling!

    Kranthi Prakash is sweet and professional. She has successfully completed the Canadian Association of Physiotherapy Regulators licensing program and is a licensed physiotherapist in Alberta. Graduated with a Masters of Neurosciences in Physiotherapy in 2012 and Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy in 2010. She has gained a vast experience working with various specialties like ortho, neuro, cardio, geriatric, pediatric, surgery, medicine and intensive care units while working at a multi-specialty hospital in India and has worked with a clients of all ages.

    Kranthi thrives in communication and is able to effectively explain procedures and answer any questions while making you feel comfortable and confident in your treatment plan.

    Kranthi loves to dance and listen to music. She enjoys spending time with friends and exploring Canada’s beautiful mesmerizing nature and beauty.

    Kranthi Prakash is fluent in Hindi, English, Gujarati, Telugu and can understand Marathi.

    Shantel Reyes graduated from University of Alberta with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction.

    Shantel is very passionate about empowering others to achieve their rehabilitation goals and realize their body’s full potential. Shantel believes in patient-centred care with individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.

    Her treatment approach emphasizes on proper education, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and self-management techniques to optimize recovery and support her patients to continue an active and pain-free lifestyle. Her goal is to equip her patients with the right tools to not only recover from their injuries, but also prevent future recurrence in the long term.

    Shantel has a special interest in treating sport injuries however, she has experience working with conditions related to car accidents, work incidents, and general aging. Shantel is certified in functional dry needling and loves adding needling into her treatments as necessary. As a lifelong learner, Shantel plans to expand her knowledge by taking courses in pelvic health.

    Shantel enjoys being active by working out at the gym, playing volleyball, rock-climbing, and going for walks with her dog, Kiro. She also loves spending time with friends and family outdoors & travelling to new places.

    Pearl Chua graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy (2023). Prior to that, she completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology with Distinction in 2020.

    Pearl is passionate about helping others. She strongly believes in empowering clients by providing individualized treatment plans and self-management techniques, allowing them to take control of their lives and return to the activities they love most. Pearl takes an active rehabilitation approach, mainly focusing on therapeutic exercise and education. As well, she utilizes manual therapy and modalities in her treatments.

    Pearl was an avid dancer for most of her life who loved training extensively with her peers and competing in national competitions. Now, she enjoys being active by training at the gym and taking long walks with her dog, Mickey. Pearl’s current hobbies include reading and building mechanical keyboards in her spare time.

    Courtney completed her Bachelor of Science degree (2013) and her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy degree (2017) at the University of Alberta. She is enthusiastic about blood flow restriction training and is certified through both Owens Recovery Science and Smart Tools. She has also taken additional courses in functional dry needling, k-taping, and temporomandibular joint assessment and treatment. Her treatments are manual therapy and exercise based and she strives to make every session fun and unique.

    Outside of the clinic, her interests include makeup artistry, sculpting and gardening.

    Kelly Burlet completed her Masters of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 2015. She has additional training in treating low back pain through McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT).

    Kelly is passionate about physiotherapy and helping people reach their functional goals. She is experienced treating a wide variety of injuries and conditions including work, sport, and military injuries, motor vehicle accidents, pre and post-surgical conditions, and disorders that effect the muscles, joints, and bones.

    Her treatment approach includes a combination of hands-on manual therapy, exercise, and education. She believes individualized treatment plans results in the best outcome and is committed to providing high quality care to each patient.

    In her spare time, Kelly enjoys running, high intensity interval training, volleyball, and yoga. She volunteers at a local animal shelter and helps rehabilitate cats before they can be adopted.

Following his undergraduate degree he continued his academic career at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he achieved his degree of Doctor of Chiropractic in 2014. He has continued his education since his graduation from chiropractic college and has obtained certifications in Active Release Technique, Acupuncture, Activator Methods and Custom Orthotic prescription. When he’s not in the clinic Dr. Kosta can be found exploring festivals around the city, traveling and reading. Dr. Kosta has maintained his practice in Toronto and moved to Edmonton in the summer of 2017 to continue his journey of healing and health promotion.

    Dr. Youngoh Kim is a Chiropractic Doctor. Dr. Kim was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree with Specialization in Kinesiology from University of Alberta. During his undergraduate program he worked as a research assistant at Child and Adolescent Activity Lab under the supervision of Dr. Nicholas Holt, where he developed his passion for learning about the human body. He then pursued his graduate studies at Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California, graduating with Summa Cum Laude.

    Dr. Kim serves his community by promoting a healthy active lifestyle for all clients. He utilizes spinal manipulative therapy, soft tissue mobilization, and home exercise prescriptions in his treatment plans to help clients overcome obstacles faced by variety of musculoskeletal injuries. Dr. Kim is a firm believer that every client should be treated individualistically. He creates patient-centered treatment plans that are designed with the patient’s goals in mind to get them back to the activities that they enjoy as quickly as possible.

    Tamara Warshawski has been a RMT for almost 7 years now and is registered with Natural Health Practitioners of Canada. She has spent a lot of time working in chiropractic and physiotherapy clinics. She has experience working with motor vehicle accident patients, sports injuries, general muscle tension and pain, trigger point therapy, cupping therapy, and has also completed continuing education courses in orthopedic massage and neuromuscular therapy training.

    Additionally, she recently completed the Acupuncture Diploma program at Macewan University in Edmonton and now has the expertise to offer both massage and acupuncture treatments to her patients.

    In her spare time, Tamara enjoys running and has completed a few full and half marathons. She also enjoys travelling, spending time with friends and family, and weekends away at the family cabin.

    Vivian offers a variety of Acupuncture modalities such as ear Acupuncture, electroacupuncture, cupping, gua sha and moxibustion. She has a holistic and gentle approach to treatment, optimizing patient comfort and relaxation. She has a special interest in mental-emotional health, stress management, digestive health, conditions of the face and TMJ and general pain and tension.

    In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, reading, and spending time with her cats.

    Registered Massage Therapist

    Alyssia Strasbourg is a Massage Therapy graduate of Makami college with 3000 hours. Her special areas of interest include massage for vocalists and instrumentalists. She specializes in laryngeal massage which helps with reducing muscle tension dysphonia and dysphasia. This treatment is very beneficial for singers, teachers, or anyone who uses their voice on a daily basis. She also specializes in intra-oral massage for TMJ Disorders.

    Alyssia also does a variety of different treatments including myofascial cupping, myofascial release, therapeutic, relaxation, hot stone, lymphatic drainage, and prenatal massages. She likes to incorporate stretching to provide the best suitable treatment plan for each individual patient.

    Alyssia first started out pursuing a music career, studying music at MacEwan University. However, the pressures of performing made her realize she would prefer to find a more relaxing and therapeutic career. She then found massage therapy! Since then, it has been her goal to help people feel their best both physically and mentally, as she has seen and understands first hand the benefits massage therapy provides for both.

    In her down time, her hobbies include traveling, kayaking, hiking and all things artistic such as painting, singing, and playing piano and guitar.

    Alyssia Strasbourg is fluent in English and also speaks some Italian.

    Donata Jankauskiene is a Massage Therapy graduate of Makami college with 3000 hours. She is registered in our province with the Certified Registered Massage Therapist Association (CRMTA). She has experience working with many types of massage therapy including general muscle tension and pain, trigger point therapy, deep tissue release, prenatal, myofascial cupping therapy, myofascial release, therapeutic massage, Swedish massage, and hot stone massages.

    She also finished a Physical Rehabilitation and Special Education program in Lithuania and practiced for 6 years.

    Natalee Koenig graduated from a 2200 hr program at Alberta college of Massage Therapy. She is trained in relaxation massage, myofascial release, deep tissue massage, and therapeutic massage. Natalee is certified in RAPID NeuroFascial Reset Lower Body.

    Natalee is fascinated with the body’s ability to heal. She loves to help people and encourage their healing from within. She’s inspired by the many positive outcomes of massage treatments. These outcomes include elevated mood and improved mental health as well as increased range of motion and improved physical health.

    Natalee enjoys working with her clients on improving their posture, helping rehabilitate their injuries, releasing over-worked and tight muscles, relieving chronic pain, or simply helping them relax and ease their mind.     Kinesiologist

    Reniel graduated from University of Alberta with a Bachelors of Kinesiology majoring in sports performance in 2022.

    Reniel is very passionate about physical activity and how it goes hand in hand with health. He make it his mission in life to help individuals reach their fitness/rehabilitation goals and educate individuals on the mechanics of the human body. Reniel is continuously taking courses to help further expand knowledge about the human body and pathologies of the body and courses that will deepen skills and assets to help me improve in exercise therapy treatments.

    Reniel has a client-centered approach where he builds a partnership with whoever he works with to ensure everyone is comfortable and finding the unique attributes to everyone I work with to create an individualized program catered towards their needs. Reniel’s treatments consists of one on one work where he aims to educate individuals on their injury, explain the purpose of all the exercises and how these exercise pertain to their condition.

    Outside of the clinic, Reniel is a personal trainer helping others achieve their fitness goals. On his time off, Reniel keeps physically active by going to the gym, bouldering and playing volleyball. Other hobbies include gaming and fashion.

    Reniel is fluent in English and can understand Tagalog.

    Throughout his education and his career, Yannick has developed the skills and interests required to be an effective professional. His approach towards any situation is with great enthusiasm and positivity. Having extensive experience in hands-on work applications, in accounting and record keeping, and as well as customer relations has taught him that working hard, constantly learning new skills and working in collective teams is the most powerful tool to succeeding in meeting your personal and professional goals.

    Outside of work, you can often find Yannick doing outdoors activities such as softball, canoeing, snowboarding and running or simply walking his dogs. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessica, and daughters, Emelyn, and Linnée, at any one of Edmonton’s great dog parks. You can usually find him with a coffee in hand. He also enjoys regularly travelling far and wide; to date, he has visited various European countries, Turkey, Thailand, Japan and many cities in north America. South America and the Oceania are next on his long bucket list.

    Roxanne has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 20 years as a Health Care Aide where she gained experience working with the youth and elderly. She decided to pivot her career when her father became ill and Roxanne has most recently worked as an Office Administrator for more than 10 years.

    Roxanne enjoys spending her spare time with her two boxers Bruno and Ezekiel.

    In her spare time Victoria likes watching scary movies and spending time with her cat, Willow. She also enjoys being outdoors, working on vehicles, as well as pilates and yoga.

    Rebecca Silver is one of our fabulous receptionists at Forward Physiotherapy & Wellness! Rebecca was born and raised in Edmonton. Recently, Rebecca graduated from CDI College with a diploma in Medical Office Administration, along with 2 certificates in Business Administration.

    Rebecca has a passion for the challenge of assisting every individual with their personal wellness needs, and loves learning about new cultures and history.

    In her free time, Rebecca, aspires to travel the world to take in life as much as possible. Rebecca is a passionate 10-pin bowler and aspires to become a youth bowling coach, further teaching the younger generation the fun and enjoyment that she had as a youth bowler. Rebecca is fond of swimming, horseback riding, scary movies and camping in the summer season. Rebecca enjoys spending valuable time with her family (her daughter keeps her on her toes), two dogs, two cats.

    Mariam is a Physiotherapy Assistant at Forward Physiotherapy & Wellness. She was born in Jedda, Saudi Arabia, but her nationality is from the west tropical side of Africa, Sierra Leone.

    She graduated from CDI College in 2021 with a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant Diploma and plans on pursuing a career in physiotherapy in the future.

    Her hobbies include creating art, playing the guitar, and staying active. She likes a variety of activities including rollerblading, snowboarding, and gymnastics. A fun fact about Mariam is that she has a need for speed and owns a motorcycle! You can often find her spending quality time with her friends and family and socializing with others. She also loves cooking and is an excellent home chef. She may not be Gordon Ramsey yet, but she does make a mean meal! 

    Mariam is fluent in English and also understands Krio and Temne.

    Rachel is a rehabilitation assistant. She graduated in January 2023 from CDI College with a rehabilitation therapy assistant diploma. During her studies, Rachel gained extensive knowledge about human anatomy, physiology, and the musculoskeletal system. After completing her diploma, she immediately began working as a rehabilitation assistant at Forward Physiotherapy and Wellness.

    Rachel is passionate about helping others reach their rehabilitation goals.

    Outside of work, Rachel enjoys reading, baking, kayaking, biking, and cross-country skiing.

    Balpreet is a Physiotherapy Assistant at Forward physiotherapy and wellness. He was born in Punjab, India.

    He graduated from NorQuest College in 2021 with a Interdisciplinary Therapy Assistant Diploma and planning to pursue his career in Buisness.

    In his free time he likes to explore more about different business’s and read books how they started and how they have grown in past years. He also like to talk to his parents and relatives. When weather is nice he also like to walk outside and sit in the parks watching kids playing.
