Ankle and foot fractures may occur from trauma such as falls or sports. Typically ankle and foot fractures will need to be medically stabilized and you may be wearing a cast or air boot until healed. Following cast removal, physiotherapy should commence to restore foot and ankle range of motion, strength, flexibility, balance, and return to higher levels of activity such as running and jumping. You may also need some help restoring normal gait (walking pattern). Your therapist will assess your condition and create a custom treatment plan to get you back on your feet.
