Snapping Hip Syndrome

SNAPPING HIP SYNDROME

ABOUT SNAPPING HIP SYNDROME

Snapping Hip Syndrome is characterized by an audible “snap” or “click” of the hip during hip motion. There are many causes of this noise including tight structures  such as the iliotibial band or IT band ( most common) or iliopsoas (hip flexor). Less commonly it is a noise coming from inside the joint. The noise is not typically an indication of the joint dislocating. Your therapist will assess the source of the noise and create a treatment plan to address your concerns.
