FAQ

Below are some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQ) we receive about our clinic and your upcoming visit to see our team of Health Professionals.

1. Do I need a physician's referral to see a practitioner at Forward?

No Physician Referral Needed! Physiotherapists, Chiropractor, and Naturopathic Doctors are primary health professionals. As such, you DO NOT need a physician’s referral to see one of our practitioners. However, you might require a Physician referral for submitting your invoices to an Extended Health Benefits insurance plan, in order to get reimbursed. Please call your insured if you are not sure.

2. Does Alberta Healthcare pay for my treatment?

Our clinic does not have a physiotherapy contract with Alberta Healthcare at this time.  Due to changes in funding in Alberta, no new contracts have been granted in recent years. We hope to provide this service soon.

Chiropractic services are partially covered for Alberta seniors enrolled in the Coverage for Seniors health benefit plan (sponsored by Alberta Health and administered by Alberta Blue Cross). Seniors enrolled in the plan will receive coverage up to a limit of $25 per visit, to a maximum of $200 per benefit year (July 1 – June 30).

Massage therapy services are NOT covered under Alberta Health.

3. Is your clinic wheelchair accessible?

Yes. We have designated handicap parking spaces, accessible bathroom, and elevator in the building for your convenience.

4. What should I bring to my visit?

Please bring your health insurance card and Alberta Healthcare Card. Dress comfortably and ensure the area being assessed is accessible (i.e. bring shorts for lower extremity injury). Forgot shorts? Don’t worry, our clinic has complimentary shorts and gowns available as needed.

5. What forms of payment do you accept?

We offer direct billing to most health insurance plans. We offer direct billing for WCB injuries and Car Accident injuries. We also accept MasterCard, Visa, Debit, AMEX and cash.

6. What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide 24-hour notice when cancelling your appointment. A cancellation fee may be enforced if proper notice is not given.
